I even annoy myself

The preparation for a wedding, day at the races or any other "formal type" of occasion is met with a lot of preparation:
  1. Try on every thing I own, twice, with varying combinations of shoes and if necessary, hats
  2. Try on everything my sister owns twice, with shoes, hats, bags, necklaces
  3. Find combination that feels good.
  4. Begin fake tanning.
  5. Decide that a whole new outfit is required.
  6. Buy three new ensembles.
  7. Return all three ensembles.
  8. Drive to Chadstone on a Friday night with only two hours until close, strapless bra and heels in handbag.
  9. Power walk around and try on everything in any size, each dress more expensive than the last as the clock ticks away.
  10. Stay in the change rooms while the sales assistant brings everything in the shop into the change room with no success.
  11. Stay in the change rooms and sob, refusing to come out.
  12. Vow to starve myself until the relevant occasion and buy something in a size too small, then return it with 10 minutes to closing time.
  13. Go home and try on every outfit again.
  14. Find something in the back of the wardrobe that will be just fine.
  15. Begin painting toenails and decide that a trip to an all night chemist is required to find the perfect shade.....and so on and so on.
Yep, just got back from the fashion capital with a new dress that I will wear often, but decided to wear favourite black dress from the back of the wardrobe.
